Poets Anonymous K-Zoo is a community-based organization. We have a large and diverse audience and poet base. We pride ourselves in representing the community in which we are located.

We have been running free shows since the days of Papa Pete's Coffee Bar and Dino's Coffee Lounge. Although we don't have any source of income, we have plenty of expenses including prizes for poetry slams, advertising, annual certification fees, and office supplies. However, our biggest expense at the moment is the $400 registration fee (due May 1st) and the cost of sending four poets to the National Poetry Slam.

While operating on a zero budget works short term, in order to better serve our community and to afford our poets more opportunities, we need to start bringing in some money.

We are pursuing grant opportunities. However, this will not be enough, and this is where you come in. We are seeking donations from individuals such as yourself.

Poets Anonymous is not an NPO, but because we are a certified poetry slam venue, we are under the NPO umbrella of Poetry Slam, Inc. (PSI). PSI offers a grantback program where they keep 10% of donations made to them in a certified venue's name and 90% goes back to the venue. This is, of course, tax deductable. PSI is a worthwhile cause, and we are more than happy to give them 10% of our donations. They are doing what we are doing, but on an international level.

DIRECTIONS FOR DONATING TO PAKZOO USING THE PSI GRANTBACK PROGRAM:

1. Visit www.poetryslam.com and click on the "Donate" button on the top strip.
2. Choose "Donation is Support of Local Slams."
3. Fill in the amount of the donation under "Quantity." Every 1 equals $1.
4. Click "Add to cart."
5. Fill in Name of Local Slam: "Poets Anonymous K-Zoo" and Name of Local Slammaster: "Todd Bannon." (This step is essential for us to get the grant back.)
6. Click "Add to cart." (Yes, again.)
7. Click on "Checkout" and follow the instructions.

Another way of accomplishing the same thing is to go directly to PayPal. (You have to be a member.) Log in and go to the "Send Money" tab. Designate steve@poetryslam.com in the recipient field. Put a message in the message field designating Poets Anonymous K-Zoo as the recipient slam.
