Here's how this site works: Visitors can view just about anything on the site, but as a community of poets, writers and event organizers we collaborate to create the content here. Your level of participation is called a "role" and it determines what you can do, how you can contribute. Here's a guide for our visitors that explains what each role can do and what you have to do to be granted that access.
Anonymous User
If you haven't signed in using the login form, you are an anonymous user. If you are an anonymous user you can:
- Access (read) content only
Authenticated User
Anyone can complete a registration and sign up for an account on the site. When you do so, and verify your email address, you become an "authenticated user" and can do the following additional things:
- Vote in polls
- Register for events
- You are automatically signed up for our newsletter
Fan
A fan is someone who has come to the show and asked to be put on the mailing list. At all official PAKZOO events there is a mailing list signup sheet floating around and you can simply enter your email address there to receive an invitation. In addition to the Authenticated User benefits, if you are a "fan" you can also:
- Access (read) comments
- Create comments, with approval
- Create (upload) images, with approval
To become a "fan," just submit your email address to the slam master at an event.
Poet
A poet is anyone who has performed at an official PAKZOO event. Poets are the lifeblood of this site and are granted the most access to do the most interesting things. If you are a registered poet you can also:
- Create blogs
- Create comments (without approval)
- Post biographies and poems
- Post to forums
- Access file uploads
- Create audio files for the PAKZOO podcast
To become a "poet," just read in the open mic or slam at an event and submit your email to the slam master at an event.
At this time, membership at all levels is free.
